What We Handle — Repatriation from Qatar to the Philippines

Please note: cremation is not available in Qatar. We handle Catholic, other Christian, and Muslim funeral rites with full respect for your family’s beliefs, and coordinate the return and burial of your loved one in their home province anywhere in the Philippines.

A Filipino wake, the lamay, can last several days. For this reason, families need their loved one home to begin it. So we arrange direct flights to Manila or Cebu. When needed, we coordinate with OWWA as well. After arrival, we carry the deceased onward to the home province. In addition, Filipino-speaking support is available at every hour.

In Qatar, there is no funeral home a family can call. There is a process, and almost no one has ever had to learn it. This is that process.

The documents issued in Qatar

It begins with the Notification of Death, issued by the hospital and registered with the Ministry of Public Health. The Death Certificate is then issued on the basis of that notification — two documents, in that order. A death that occurs outside a hospital is referred to the authorities first; that step is required by law.

Embalming in Qatar is carried out by the state mortuary, not by a private funeral home. The Ministry of Public Health issues the Embalming and Sealing Certificate, and the coffin is built to airline specification. The Ministry of Interior then issues the Transfer of Dead Body Certificate — the authorisation to leave Qatar — while the residency is cancelled and the passport released.

The Philippine Embassy in Doha

The Embassy issues two documents: the Report of Death, transmitted to the Philippine Statistics Authority, and the Consular Mortuary Certificate (NOC) — without it, the remains cannot enter the Philippines.

What the family must do at home

The Embassy also requires civil registry records from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) proving the relationship to the deceased, requested through the family's own local civil registrar. Start these on day one — not after the Qatar paperwork is done. It is the most common reason a family waits.

Timeline and routing

With every document in hand, the transfer is typically completed within 2–4 working days. Doha connects to Manila daily and to Cebu three times a week, with onward transfer to any province.

The last mile

Most providers consider a case closed when the aircraft lands in Manila. Ours does not. Manila, to Basco in Batanes; then by sea to Itbayat — the northernmost inhabited island in the Philippines. Four legs, three handovers, one case file managed from one desk in Doha. If we can reach Itbayat, we can reach your province.

Everything you need to know about repatriation from Qatar to the Philippines.

01

How much does repatriation from Qatar to the Philippines cost?

Costs vary by destination city, coffin type, and airline. Contact us for a clear itemised quote — we respond 24/7.

02

How long does repatriation from Qatar to the Philippines take?

Typically 2–4 working days after Qatari authorities release the deceased, subject to embassy NOC and flight availability.

03

Do I need an NOC from the Philippine Embassy?

Yes — a No Objection Certificate from the Embassy of the Philippines in Doha is mandatory. We obtain it as part of our service.

04

Which Philippine cities do you repatriate to?

All of them — Manila, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, Zamboanga, and onward via domestic transfer.

05

Can the family travel on the same flight?

Often yes. We arrange companion travel for a family member where the airline permits.

06

Do you handle the QID cancellation?

Yes — we manage the cancellation of the Qatari residency (QID) and the handover of the passport as part of our service.

07

Is cremation available in Qatar?

No. Cremation is not available in Qatar. For families who observe cremation or wish to hold the final rites at home in Philippines, we repatriate the mortal remains to Philippines so the ceremonies can be performed according to family tradition.

08

What documents should the family prepare first?

Usually the passport of the deceased, Qatar ID details, and next-of-kin contacts in Qatar and Philippines. Hospital release papers and any police or medical reports help us move faster. We guide you through the exact list once we open your case.

09

Do you coordinate with funeral homes in Philippines?

Yes. We coordinate the handover with the receiving funeral home or family in Philippines, so the arrival, customs clearance and onward transfer are handled smoothly.
